World Cup ’66: Puffer Hurst
This limited edition print, personally signed by Sir Geoff Hurst, captures Geoff in full 'puffer' mode at the moment he scores his first goal of the 1966 World Cup final, equalising against West Germany in the sixteenth minute of the match.
Geoff's fans picked up on his habit of puffing out his cheeks as he went to score and affectionately gave him the nickname 'Puffer'.
The match was destined to be a nail biter right to the very last minute with England winning in extra time when Sir Geoff scored the last goal of his iconic hat-trick, still the one and only man to do so (at the time of writing, November 2022).
Geoff didn't know that he was about to make sporting history in this picture but already he was clearly focused on only one thing. The goal!
Accompanied by memories and anecdotes recounted by Sir Geoff to our editor.
